Rectory House

Apartament Renovation

Como, Italy

Renovation of an apartment within an ancient rectory with barrel vaults honors its historical roots while introducing a refined, contemporary touch. We restructured the spaces by replicating the original barrel vaults perpendicularly, creating a harmonious flow throughout the interiors. The walls have been treated with lime in soothing, natural tones, bringing warmth and serenity to the rooms. Stucco frames, integrating both lighting and climate control systems, seamlessly blend function and aesthetics. Velvet coverings on sofas and wardrobes add a luxurious softness, contrasting elegantly with the minimalist lines. The entrance sets a grand tone with its classic checkerboard marble flooring, offering a nod to timeless design. The project merges understated elegance with modern sophistication, creating a tranquil yet visually striking home where history and contemporary design coexist seamlessly.
