Villa Aureggi

Renovation of Historical Villa

Como, Italy

The renovation of Villa Aureggi in Lenno, Tremezzina, a mid-19th century noble villa overlooking Lake Como, involved a comprehensive restoration while preserving its historical essence. Protected by the Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio, the project carefully balanced modern updates with respect for the villa's heritage.

The original ceilings were preserved, while the floors were redone to accommodate new underfloor heating and climate control systems. Contextual materials were thoughtfully chosen: terrazzo for the ground floor, wood flooring for the first floor, and marble for the master bathroom. In the kitchen, Moltrasio stone was used for the flooring, and the old fireplace was adapted for grilling. The kitchen features a Carrara marble countertop and a cooking module from Officine Gullo.

The living spaces are elegantly furnished, blending traditional elements with modern design. The library showcases a harmonious mix of bookshelves and a grand piano, all under a beautifully decorated ceiling. The living room offers a stunning view of the lake through large windows, providing a serene setting with plush seating arrangements.

The exterior received a complete makeover, including the addition of a new swimming pool, seamlessly integrating with the villa’s historical charm and the surrounding landscape. The façade retains its original grandeur, with meticulous restoration work enhancing its classic beauty.

In summary, the renovation of Villa Aureggi successfully merges historical preservation with modern luxury, creating a timeless and elegant retreat on the shores of Lake Como.
